- You're moving a short distance
- You have helpers and not much heavy furniture
- Time off work isn't expensive for you
Movers make sense when
- You're moving far, with lots of furniture
- Stairs, pianos or heavy items are involved
- Time off work or injury risk would cost more
Middle options
Rent a moving container you load yourself, or hire labor-only help to load a truck you drive.
