For interstate moves
- Full value protection: the mover is liable for the replacement value of lost or damaged goods, within limits
- Released value: minimal coverage at no extra charge, at 60 cents per pound per item
- Check what your renters or homeowners insurance covers in transit
On the day
- Take photos of valuables before packing
- Carry jewelry, documents and medicines yourself
- Note any damage on the delivery receipt before signing
